Last updated 4 August 2026
Development and Inclusion Marketplace, referred to in this policy as DiM, we, or us, connects non governmental organizations with consultants and service providers. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using DiM, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the information you provide and a limited amount of technical data.
- Account information. Your name, email address, password, account role (NGO, consultant, or supplier), and optional details such as phone number, country, organization, website, short biography, and profile photo. Passwords are stored only in an encrypted, hashed form and are never visible to us in plain text.
- Consultant profile information. If you register as a consultant, we collect your headline, summary, areas of expertise, skills, work experience, education, certifications, languages, availability, daily rate, countries you have worked in, and links you choose to add such as a CV, portfolio, or LinkedIn address.
- Supplier information. If you register as a supplier, we collect your service listings, catalogue images, categories, coverage areas, pricing terms, and business contact details.
- Content you submit. Job posts, consultancy posts, applications and their attachments such as cover letters and CVs, resources you upload, and messages you send to other users through the platform.
- Usage and device data. Basic analytics such as pages viewed, approximate location, browser, and device type, collected through Google Analytics to help us understand how the platform is used.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and display your public profile or listings.
- To connect NGOs with consultants and suppliers and to power search and matching.
- To enable messaging and inquiries between users on the platform.
- To send service emails, including email verification, password reset, and responses to messages you send through the contact form.
- To verify accounts, moderate content, and keep the platform safe and secure.
- To measure and improve the performance and reliability of the service.
3. Legal Bases for Processing
Where data protection law such as the General Data Protection Regulation applies, we process your data on the following bases, your consent, the performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interest in operating and improving the platform, and compliance with legal obligations.
4. How Your Information Is Shared
Some of the information you provide is public by design. Profiles, job posts, consultancy posts, and supplier listings are visible to other users so that the marketplace can work. Consultants can choose to hide their name and photo from public view, in which case that information is masked from other users and from search results.
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with service providers who help us run the platform, including our database and file hosting provider, our email delivery provider, and our analytics provider. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database and secure file storage. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt, access to your account is protected by signed session tokens, and all traffic between your browser and the platform is transmitted over encrypted connections. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Cookies and Analytics
We use a small number of cookies. An essential cookie keeps you signed in during your session. We also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to help us understand aggregate usage patterns. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, though disabling the essential cookie will prevent you from signing in.
7. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, your personal profile, postings, and messages are removed, except where we are required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to request a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can update most of your information directly in your account settings. To make any other request, contact us at info@ngohub.org.
9. Children
DiM is intended for professional use by adults. It is not directed at anyone under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. International Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your data continues to be protected in line with this policy and applicable law.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated through the platform where appropriate.
12. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, contact us at info@ngohub.org.
